…please bring snow! And while I’m at it could you look to deliver snow that is well bonded to the layers below? It wouldn’t hurt my feelings if it was blower and waist deep too. Thanks for helping out the BC ski community.
Sincerely,

BC SKI LINKS ROUND-UP…
XMAS GIFT #1: UPHILL FIEND IG
I have frequently found myself laughing out loud and sharing posts from this account with touring friends. If you are not already following along, please cue into this, and also share merriment of uphill humor with your bc ski friends.
XMAS GIFT #2: CINEMATIC EYE CANDY
BC Ski friend, Turner, shared this clip and it is shot ridiculously well. Treat yourself to seven minutes of ski flick goodness.
XMAS GIFT #3: ASCENDING
Splitboard bud, Brad, shared this site and it’s a gift in multiple forms. First it is appeasing to the eye with amazing photos that stretch from one side of the screen to the other, yet the coolest piece is how the author captures some really good info for people getting into backcountry. Splitboard 101 is great section, but I’ll kick you off with this ascending post. Don’t miss clicking/swiping each image as he highlights different items to cue into with multiple photos.
I hesitate to include this in the “xmas gift” section above, but there is a growing group of people touring tomorrow morning (12/24/20) at Mt Spokane during the uphill window 7:15am-9am. Don’t be intimidated, or think you are not supposed to be there… because you should come! Sure there will be hardcore backcountry people nearby, but there will also be a good showing of kids and their parents uphilling, as well as people figuring out which way to put their skins on, etc. Hope to see you there if you can swing it, I hope Santa brings you touring gear, and I hope you have a Merry Christmas!
Much love BC Ski Friends,

We are new to the bc world and have gone once up to the vista house from the snow mobile parking lot. Im worried about the time constraint given our inexperience. In your opinion is 90 minutes adequate time get up mt spokanes uphill route for people of moderate fitness?
Thanks!
Great question! If you travel from the snowmobile lot and stay out of bounds you still are not constrained by time if you have a sno-park pass, but if you are planning to use the uphill route from lodge one the resort has unfortunately made a window that isn’t very conducive for all. They have indicated that after the first of the year they hope to expand to an all day uphill option. Fingers crossed the all day option moves forward so people can have more opportunity for uphilling!
